The Spencer Spine Splint is a spinal extraction and immobilization system widely used by rescue professionals. It is particularly effective for extricating patients from vehicles, especially those with suspected spinal injuries, without causing additional harm to the spine. The innovative design features a new corset and seat belt system that immobilizes the patient securely within the device, preventing constriction and allowing for proper breathing. The repositioned axillary belts ensure the patient can be lifted safely without the risk of slipping out of the corset.
A forehead locking band is included, which can accommodate a removable disposable Soft Pad cushion for added comfort. The redesigned shoulder board minimizes chest compression when used in conjunction with semi-rigid stretchers. The seat belts feature a quick coupling and release system made of durable acetal resin, with color-coded belts and buckles to make identification and correct attachment faster and more intuitive. The Spencer Spine Splint is compatible with both bivalve and monovalve collars.
Patients wearing the Spencer Spine Splint can be placed and secured on a spinal board, making this system practical and effective for extrications in confined spaces and challenging environments. The splint is also easy to fold and store in a convenient carrying bag made from blue Ripstop 1000 D material, which includes compartments for accessories and a handle for easy transport.
