The BISTOS BT-400 Phototherapy unit is a medical device used for the treatment of jaundice in newborn infants. Jaundice is a common condition in newborns that occurs when the baby's liver is not yet fully developed, and as a result, cannot remove bilirubin from the blood effectively. Bilirubin is a yellow substance that is produced when red blood cells break down, and it can build up in the baby's blood, causing the skin and whites of the eyes to turn yellow.
